General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Otacin is an antibiotic which is used to treat the ear infection. The pain while applying can be related to the presence of the infection in the ear canal.

I suggest continuing using Otacin in both ears for at least a week to treat the infection. To relieve the pain you can use anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
